The State of Massachusetts Animal
Response Team (SMART)
is a network of
organizations, agencies,

committed to responding
to the needs of the animal
population in disaster
situations in the
State of Massachusetts.

Within SMART are seven working teams:
Shelter Operations, Search & Rescue, Assessment, Deceased Animal
Removal & Disposal, Veterinary Services, Animal Control Officer and Special
